What my brother and I ate at a Rockwell bazaar (I think this post outlines typical Rockwell bazaar fare):

My sister's birthday

You may or may not know this, but we keep a really cute little pet at home! No, not my dog!

Clue: The pet looks a little bit like a turd

Homemade Pretzels

YES, YES, YES with mustard please.
Ps. I would've put some jalapenos on top if I had any.
When I'm in Manila, I've got a wonderful kitchen to work in- it's really spacious and my mum has got a ton of equipment too! The downside is, produce isn't that fresh! Anyway, so with a great place to work in, I'd take a crack at things that are more consuming/tedious. These pretzels.. Well.. They do sort of fall into that category. But they're totally worth it! So.. Make them!

Letting the yeast rise.
I must confess.
This is a smell that I dislike.

Proving.

Sectioning and rolling.

Bliss

This is bliss

And so is this

Chateau Hestia, Tagaytay

I absolutely love the old Spanish vibe of the place.
My dad and mum both took the day off for my dad's birthday. The three of us headed off to Tagaytay which was something fairly out of the ordinary especially for us. I had no clue whatsoever where my dad was going to take us, but for sure it was going to be somewhere extraordinary.* Yes, it was the opposite way around, he was the one who surprised us!

My dad has read about Chateau Hestia in a couple of magazines and he actually knows the owner too. The place is very hard to find but once you do find it, it has that relaxed ambiance and it very airy. I found it beautiful especially cause it had an organic farm out the back.

The dining area was very simple. It was reminiscent of a chateau as the name suggests. There were plenty of windows that pulled in a lot of natural light.

Complimentary bread and uhh.. a buttery eggplant dip if I wasn't mistaken. I wasn't the biggest fan of their bread, it wasn't dense enough for me.

The Pie Tin, Newtown

Rustic, I like.
From the reviews that I've been reading, Pie Tin seems to be the place to go for top-notch pies. Yes, Australia is famous for their meat pies, but this place has dessert pies too! That includes American favorites such as Apple Pie and Pumpkin Pie. Actually, I was more excited to head there for the dessert pies! I even considered skipping lunch and jumping right on board the dessert train! But I didn't have brekkie and having dessert just wouldn't seal the deal with my rumbling tummy.

See? The place was PACKED.

APPROPRIATE!
My favourite number.
It was chilly and drizzling yesterday, and there was nowhere else better to go than Pie Tin for some freshly baked hot pies. Freshly baked stuff really get me.* I've also got a thing for beef pies! I never get any other savoury kind. It's the bomb diggity! They also had a couple of choices which got me excited.

Tuna Ceviche + Multi-fruit Smoothie

Before I tell you about the healthy stuff I've eaten today, I want to tell you about the not-so-healthy stuff :( I know that if my mom reads this, she is going to roll her eyes and say, see, this is why you're getting fatter... Hahaha

But I can't help it! I love my chocolate. And I don't have a lot of self control. So please don't ask me how long (or should I say SHORT) a time it took me to eat ALL of these...

This is one lone square of Casino 72% dark chocolate. I'm really crazy about it because it only costs 100 pesos for a 100g bar (Green&Black's chocolate costs a bit more than TWICE!) and is made of fair-trade cocoa! :) They also make this really brilliant 85% dark chocolate with delicious roasted cocoa nibs in it! :) I'm seriously in love with this chocolate brand.
